Drivers can expect daytime and nighttime openings of the SR 104 Hood Canal Bridge beginning next week and concluding in late-May as WSDOT’s Bridge Preservation Office conducts federally-required annual inspections.

The inspections, which include a total review of all systems, are standard for all moveable bridges in Washington.

The bridge is scheduled to close to motor vehicle traffic from 2:30-3 p.m. weekdays beginning Monday, May 10. Daytime inspections are scheduled to conclude Thursday, May 27.

Overnight bridge closures of up to 40 minutes are scheduled to occur:
10 p.m. Friday, May 14 to 4 a.m. Saturday, May 15.
10 p.m. Friday, May 21 to 4 a.m. Saturday, May 22.

Marine vessel traffic will not be affected by the inspections as 300-foot openings will be available to mariners who provide the normal one-hour advance notice.
