Speaker set at OUUF

The Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship’s speaker for March 20 is the Rev. Heike Ward, an interfaith minister ordained through the Christian Universalist Association. Her talk revolves around a kind of spring cleaning that can “clean out the mind clutter, free yourself from negativity and take a balanced approach to life’s ups and downs.” Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is at 73 Howe Road. Palm Sunday parade set

On March 20, friends and families in Jefferson and Clallam Counties are invited to attend the 25th Palm Sunday Jesus Parade in Port Townsend. During these past years the event has seen a variety of creative entries such as music groups, antique cars, horses, banners and motorcycles. Those interested in attending this year’s event are invited to meet at the US Bank parking lot at 2:30 p.m. The short parade begins at 3 p.m. with a Port Townsend Police escort.

Trinity plans Holy Week events

At Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., Sequim, a community Holy Week service is set for 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, followed by a light lunch at 12:30 p.m. A day later, the church’s Maundy Thursday service, with communion, will be at 6:45 p.m., preceded at 6 p.m. by a soup supper. On Good Friday, the sanctuary is open from 9 a.m.-noon for prayer and meditation. Easter Sunday, March 27, begins with a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. A light brunch will be available from 9-9:45 a.m. Eggs and other treats will be offered to children after the service.

Palm Sunday music set

At the 10 a.m. service on Palm Sunday, March 20, St. Luke’s Chancel Choir presents “How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place” from Johannes Brahms’ “Requiem.” The accompaniment will include cello, violin and piano.
