Conservation District position open

Any resident registered to vote in Clallam County is eligible to run for the open position on the Clallam Conservation District board of supervisors this year. The filing deadline is 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14.
Candidates must submit a Nomination Petition for Elected Supervisor form signed by 25 or more registered Clallam County voters. The form is available from the Clallam Conservation District, 1601 E. Front St., Building A, Suite A, Port Angeles, WA 98362. Call 452-1912, ext. 5, or visit www.scc.wa.gov.
The board identifies local conservation needs, sets goals and oversees the implementation of plans to protect soil, water, wildlife and other renewable natural resources. Three elected and two appointed members serve three-year terms without compensation. The position held by Marilyn Pollock is up for election.
The board meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 3 p.m. at the district office.
