Woman dies in U.S. Hwy 101 wreck

At 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, Natasha Rutherford, 24, of Port Angeles, crashed a 1995 Dodge Neon into a tree and later died.
She was driving west on U.S. Highway 101 approaching West Sequim Bay Road and veered off to the right, crossing a driveway and hitting a tree.
Rutherford was not wearing a seat belt and was the only one in the vehicle.
She was transported to Sequim High School for an airlift.
Clallam County Fire District 3 and Airlift Northwest performed CPR at the site, but Rutherford was pronounced dead.
The coroner took her to Drennan & Ford Funeral Home in Port Angeles.
Washington State Patrol reported they are not sure why the vehicle left the roadway.
Toxicology reports on whether drugs and/or alcohol were factors will be released only to family members.
The incident remains under investigation.
