Their motto? “Be prepared.”
Their slogan? “Do a good turn daily.”
For a dozen Sequim-area scouts, reward for their dedication to those creeds came in February.
Scouts from Pack 4490 celebrated their “Blue and Gold” on Feb. 24 at the Sequim Community Church, during Scouting Anniversary Week.
With about 200 in attendance (including Sharon Moulds, Scout Executive of the Chief Seattle Council), 12 scouts were awarded the Arrow of Light. According to the Boy Scouts official website, the Arrow of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting and the only Cub Scout badge that may be worn on the Boy Scout uniform.
Scouts from the Pack’s three troops — 90, 1491 and 1492 — were in attendance as well.

A dozen Boy Scouts from Pack 4490 goof off a bit after receiving their Arrow of Light awards at a ceremony at Sequim Community Church on Feb. 24. Award recipients include Carter Scholz, Dylan Jensen, Dylan Eichacker, Kyle Morton, Nathan Edge, Chris Haman, Liam Braaten, Jazen Bartee, Nickolas Kingsley, Sean Weber, Alex Blanchard and Robby Streett.
