Treasure hunters come to Port Angeles

The Treasure Hunters Roadshow is on a worldwide treasure hunt and is digging in Port Angeles this week.
Treasure Hunters is expecting to see more than 1,200 residents bringing in their rare and unusual collectibles. Locals will have a chance to talk to antiques and collectibles specialists — for free.
Recent finds include a 1960s vintage guitar, purchased for over $100,000. Four gold coins were purchased from a local resident for over $72,000. Also, an Abraham Lincoln hand-written thank you letter was purchased from a man who discovered it inside a wall while he was remodeling.
Port Angeles is one of a series of stops on the Treasure Hunters Roadshow worldwide tour. During this event at the Days Inn Port Angeles, the organization is hoping to see items such as coins and paper currency issued prior to 1965, toys, dolls, trains, vintage jewelry, old and modern musical instruments, fine art, war memorabilia, comic books, gold and silver jewelry, costume jewelry, advertising memorabilia, swords, knives and the unusual.
Representatives from Treasure Hunters make offers based on what collectors are willing to pay.
Gold is traded on the stock market and prices fluctuate daily.
