A little sweat and a few laps can mean big bucks for Greywolf youths.
Students at the Carlsborg elementary school are prepping for their annual Jog-A-Thon, slated for Friday, Oct. 7.
The youths collect donations that go to the Greywolf PTA group, which helps fund school projects, activities and supplies.
This year, the PTA is looking to increase technology at Greywolf, hoping to purchase two Smartboards (one for the school’s science lab, one for the computer lab), and possibly purchase iPads and Notepads.
The group also is seeking to increase the school library’s inventory and to purchase more instruments for the music room — along with funding Greywolf’s standard fare of activities, such as Art Night, Spaghetti Dinner, Reading-Math Night and others.
Donations are pledged on a lump sum or per-lap basis; students have until Oct. 12 to turn in donation dollars.
Greywolf started the Paw Pride Running Club on Monday, Oct. 3, to encourage youths to move their bodies and celebrate October as “Fitness is Fun!” month.
