Thoughts on being ‘creed-less’

Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 73 Howe Road, Agnew, hosts Joseph Bednarik, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22.

He will speak on “Are We Faithfully Creed-Less?” Bednarik is the assistant to the Minister in the Pulpit at Quimper OUUF and also co-owner of Copper Canyon Press, a nonprofit publisher of poetry.

Memorial service planned

There will be a Community Holiday Memorial Service from 4:30-6 p.m. Dec. 3 at Sequim Valley Chapel, 108 W. Alder St., Sequim.

This is a free non-denominational service for anyone who has lost a loved one during the past year in Clallam County.

Please bring a photo of your deceased loved one.

Taize service set

All are welcome to the ecumenical Taize service at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23.

In a meditative candlelit atmosphere which includes singing simple repetitive songs, one may simply sit peacefully during the hour long service or join in the chorus while experiencing the calming effect of being in God’s presence.

Taize will continue to be held the fourth Monday of each month, except for the month of December.

Perspectives on coming out

At Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship’s Fifth Sunday Forum at 1 p.m. on Nov. 29, the fellowship’s Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender group will sponsor a multimedia program called “Perspectives on Coming Out.”

The program features the Olympic Peninsula-inspired NPR Story Corps feature “The Saint of Dry Creek,” which was the subject of an article in the Oct. 26 issue of the Peninsula Daily News.

Also featured is a short personal coming-out story by a lesbian veterinarian and a feature film (83 minutes) called “But I’m a Cheerleader.”

A short discussion will follow. Light refreshments will be served.

The program is free and open to the public. Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is at 73 Howe Road, Agnew.
