Introduction to square dancing on tap

Everyone is invited to a free ice cream social and introductory square dance lesson. The Rhody O’s Square Dance Club will offer beginning square dance lessons starting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdsay, Sept. 13.

Lessons are each Tuesday evening and continue through the autumn and winter, with students graduating in the spring.

There is absolutely no experience necessary. This program is designed for those who have never square danced in their lives, but secretly wished they had. And you can forget about the dancing you learned in middle school and you can forget about the big skirts and bolo ties.

The Rhody O’s are an informal group who dance in shorts and jeans, and sometimes gardening or fishing clothes.

If you enjoy learning new things, meeting new friends or just having fun, come out to the Gardiner Community Center, 980 Old Gardiner Road, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13.
