New hours for Wind Rose Cellars

Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., Sequim, is changing its hours to the following: 2-6 p.m. Wednesdays-Thursdays; 2-9 p.m. Fridays; and noon-9 p.m. Saturdays. There is live music from 7-9 p.m. Fridays/Saturdays.

TRX instructor gets advanced training

Brenda Cantelow, TRX instructor at Fit4Life Studio, 1245 W. Washington St., Sequim, recently completed her second TRX course: TRX Foundational Movement. She teaches TRX at 7 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and 8 a.m. Saturdays. For more information, contact Fit4Life Studio at 360-928-7107.

Tourism summit in October

Olympic Peninsula Tourism Summit will be Oct. 27-28 at Fort Worden in Port Townsend.

Patent received

Vision Works in Sequim has been assigned a patent (9,411,520) developed by Beau M. Braunberger, Upland, Calif., for “method and apparatus for embedded systems reprogramming.” The patent application was filed on Nov. 10, 2015 (14/937,364).

Trio of seminars at Best Friend

Best Friend Nutrition, 680 W. Washington, Ste. B102, Sequim, will be hosting three events at its retail store on Saturday, Aug. 27.

The first event, at 10 a.m., is the last in the free “2016 Talented Friends of Pets” speaker series with Bryant Forsythe presenting “Why Feed Raw to My Cats & How to Do That!” Call 681-8458 to reserve a seat. The second and third events are concurrent from noon-4 p.m. and include demo parties with pet food manufacturers Rad Cat Raw and KLN Brand foods for both dogs and cats. These events will feature take-home samples, in-store tastings for visiting pets, “celebrate summer” root beer ice cream floats for humans and 10 percent off Rad Cat, Nutrisource, PureVita and Natural Planet brand dog and cat foods from noon-4 p.m.

Curtis elected to board

At its annual meeting held on July 25, the First Federal Community Foundation elected Craig A. Curtis to a two-year term on the local nonprofit’s board of directors. Curtis is a registered architect and principal at The Miller Hull Partnership, where he has been employed since 1987. He also is president of Katerra Architecture, LLC, a real estate design, manufacturing and construction company. He has served on the board of directors of First Federal Bank since 2015.
