The Dungeness Valley Health and Wellness Clinic recently received a full scholarship to the 2016 Charitable Health Care Symposium put on by the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC). The NAFC works to ensure that free clinics around the country have the tools needed to provide the medically underserved with access to affordable quality health care and is a national voice promoting quality health care for all.

The 2016 Symposium is being held in Orlando, Fla., from Sept. 11-13, and features educational sessions covering topics from implementing and sustaining health promotion/disease prevention strategies to bridging language barriers and how to create unique collaborations to ensure clinic sustainability.

“Being a small clinic, educational opportunities like this are not usually feasible due to their cost,” representatives of the clinic said. “This scholarship is a tremendous honor that recognizes the good work of the Dungeness Valley Health and Wellness Clinic, their volunteers and our community. Thank you to NAFC for their support.”
