Priscilla Messner Patterson’s painting “Electra Glide in Grey” received an Honorable Mention in the Gamblin Artists Oil Colors Torrit Grey competition. Torrit Grey is a combination of all the pigments Gamblin collects from its Torit® Air Filtration system. Rather than send the leftover pigments to the landfill, the pigments are mixed to create a grey, or what they call Torrit Grey, and then packaged and sold as a mid- to dark range neutral pigment. Every year the color is a little bit different. The competition objective was to create a painting using only its Torrit Grey, black and white. Colors of Sequim provided the Torrit Grey pigment. Messner Patterson is an aviation artist from Sequim.
