FFA full of fun during its national week

Sequim High School FFA members and agriculture students celebrated National FFA Week, which runs through Feb. 26.

Before the snow fell Wednesday afternoon, students hosted an agricultural expo for high school science classes, staff and first and eighth graders from both Helen Haller Elementary and Greywolf Elementary schools.

Younger students got to plant their own sunflower seeds, pet barnyard animals, learn about plant growth and animals.

Cancellation of school prevented fifth graders from participating on Thursday.

High schoolers have planned the booths over the past weeks.

They also painted storefront windows at six local stores to promote the week.

On Saturday, Feb. 26, Del’s Farm Supply, 990 E. Washington Street, Sequim, hosts student tractor races beginning at 9 a.m.
