Jim Jones, left, president of the Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church council, and the Rev. Jack Anderson hold up a mock check signifying the church’s efforts.

During Lent, members of the church at 925 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim, raised $3,000.78 for earthquake victims’ relief in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

For one month, members filled a gallon jug from donation boxes that read, “Hope for Haiti.”
Each week, children and members watched their cents and dollars build up their money thermometer beyond the $2,000 goal.

All money went to Lutheran World Relief to help rebuild Haiti.
