Registration is now open for Olympic Medical Center’s Diabetes Prevention Program.

Anyone with pre-diabetes should consider attending this life-changing program. Learn to identify and adopt healthier lifestyle choices to improve overall health and prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes. OMC’s certified diabetes educator provides coaching, educational materials and resources, and facilitates peer support in a dynamic group setting.

• The Sequim series begins on Sept. 7. Classes will be from 3-4 p.m. Thursdays at 840 N. Fifth Ave.

• The Port Angeles series begins on Feb. 7, 2018. Classes will be from 4-5 p.m. Wednesdays at 939 Caroline St.

A cost of $160 covers 16 weekly group sessions, plus 16 follow-up group sessions and all materials.

Based on the Diabetes Prevention Program research study led by the National Institutes of Health and supported by the CDC, this course has proven to be an effective motivator for positive lifestyle change among those at risk for type 2 diabetes.

“This program helped me make changes I couldn’t make on my own,” said a recent participant of the program.
