Chief Medical Officer Scott Kennedy presented recognition awards to six technologists and six schedulers from the diagnostic imaging department at Olympic Medical Center’s board of commissioners meeting on Sept. 6.

OMC offers eight diagnostic imaging modalities, including mammography, ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine and PET/CT. Each of these modalities are accredited through the American College of Radiology. To become accredited, technologists update the radiologist list, submit images and reports, collect exam specific protocols, and maintenance and physicist evaluations on equipment in accordance with the college’s guidelines.

“Tiffany Lambert, supervisor, women’s imaging, Brittany Payseno, nuclear medicine technologist, Connie McMurray, lead mammography technologist, Steve Conat, lead MRI technologist, Rod Horstman, lead multi-procedure technologist and Nancy Dahll, lead ultrasound technologist, are being recognized for their extra efforts in completing the recent ACR accreditation process,” Kennedy said.

In addition to scheduling patients for diagnostic imaging tests, Olympic Medical Imaging Center centralized scheduling representatives double-check imaging orders, obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies and review pre-procedure checklists with patients.

“Kathy Nicholls, supervisor, centralized scheduling, Jessica Simpson, lead scheduler, and schedulers Desiree Isaksson, Miranda Juarez, Julie Rohrbacker and Leanne Klock, all do an incredible job of ensuring patients are prepared for their diagnostic imaging test,” Kennedy said.
