Ballots for the Aug. 4 Primary Election will be mailed to all registered voters in Clallam County on July 15, county election officials said this week.

Voter registration deadlines are quickly approaching for area residents: Clallam County residents have until Monday, July 27, to register online or by mail, transfer their voter registration from another Washington county or update their current voter registration. Registrations sent by mail need to be received (not postmarked) by Aug. 4.

Registrations and updates can be completed at www.votewa.gov, by contacting Clallam County Elections at 360-417-2221 or by email to elections@co.clallam.wa.us.

New registrations and updates can be made in person at the Clallam County Auditor’s Office at 223 E. Fourth St., Suite 1, Port Angeles, until 8 p.m. Aug. 4. The office is not open to in-person services because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so those needing assistance are asked to call the elections office to make appointments as needed.

The 2020 Primary Election allows voters to choose among all candidates running for each office, for the purpose of narrowing each race down to two candidates for the General Election in November.

An Online Voters’ Guide is available at www.votewa.gov; printed voter pamphlets are not produced for primaries.
