Clallam County Fire District 3 personnel respond Friday afternoon to a brush fire that started after a combine caught fire just east of the Sequim Valley Airport.

Fire District 3 Chief Ben Andrews said weather officials are warning of wind gusts of 25-40 miles per hour on Monday (Sept. 7) and Tuesday (Sept. 8) paired with very low humidity, elevating the relative fire danger.

“Today we got lucky because of light winds,” he said.
