Peterson was recognized by county commissioners, friends and colleagues during a commission meeting in Port Angeles in a ceremony that included a presentation of a chest full of memorabilia.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Don Wenzl will be promoted Aug. 2 to chief corrections deputy.
