Apply now for Peninsula College scholarships

The Peninsula College Foundation offer dozens of scholarships to students attending Peninsula College for the 2016-2017 school year.

Scholarships are available in the areas of nursing and medical assistant programs; automotive technology and welding; for single parents and adults returning to college; students with financial need; science, English, business administration, and more. Scholarship applications are due Tuesday, April 19.

There are three simple steps to search and apply for Peninsula College scholarships. First, interested individuals should visit www.theWashBoard.org to create a login and create a personal profile. The user-friendly site allows students to search and apply for verified scholarships that are specific to their academic interests, college or university, or other criteria. Students can enter “Peninsula College” in the search toolbar to review the list of all available Peninsula College and Peninsula College Foundation scholarships for the 2016-2017 school year.

Students are encouraged to start the process early as many scholarships require recommendations, personal essays and unofficial transcripts to complete applications. Applications submitted after the April 19 deadline will not be accepted.

Other tips for scholarship success include completing the personal profile section so the scholarship committee is better informed about scholarship applicants. In addition, it is important to write a meaningful personal statement that defines aspirations, career goals and talents.

Sign up for medical assistant program

Peninsula College’s Medical Assisting Program is accepting applications for the 2016-2017 academic year now through June 1. Specific immunizations are required before submitting an application with some series, such as Hepatitis B, taking five to six months to complete, so applicants are urged to begin the process now.

Graduates of PC’s Medical Assisting Program are eligible to apply for the Washington State Department of Health and Medical Assistant-Certified credential and are eligible to sit for the National Medical Assistant exam through the National Center for Competency Testing.
