Tourney to raise funds for nature center

The fifth-annual River Center Charity Golf Tournament, hosted by the Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course, is slated for Saturday, Aug. 26. All proceeds fund the Dungeness River Nature Center’s ongoing operations and educational programs.

The four-person scramble format is perfect for all levels of golfers. The event features cash prizes for the top four scoring teams, for balls landing closest to the pin and for the longest drive. There is a hole-in-one prize of $5,000 for hole number 17, tee prizes for all players, and a pulled-pork sandwich lunch.

Entry fees are $100 per player and include green fees, cart rental, range balls, lunch, and prizes. Check-in time is 8:30 a.m. with play commencing at 9:15 a.m.

Players can also buy as many $20 raffle tickets as they wish for a chance to win a new Weber grill and accessories, an $850 value donated by the nature center’s board of directors and The Home Depot. The winning ticket will be drawn at the golf course after lunch.

Tickets for the grill are also available until Friday, Aug. 25, 5 p.m. at the Dungeness River Nature Center, 1943 West Hendrickson Road.
