Haugstad earns honor

Sequim Sunrise Rotary named Sequim High School senior Nicholas Haugstad its Rotary Vocational Student of the Month for January. Here he receives the award from Rotary president Ron Gilles. An accomplished student in the engineering and tech program, Haugstad was nomimated for the award by his teacher Bill Seabolt. Haugstad, the son of Brian and Kathy Haugstad, said he hopes to go into a career in refrigeration and is already accomplished in testing and repair. Besides his interest in “fixing things,” he enjoys camping, hiking, fishing and biking.     Submitted photo
