Choppers, sirens and ladders at safety fair

Hundreds of people attended the Sequim Police Department’s Public Safety Fair Oct. 16, at Carrie Blake Park.

Children got the chance to sit in a Coast Guard helicopter, fire trucks and sheriff’s boat and to meet the men and women who work for a safer community.

More than 30 agencies promoted crime prevention and safety with handouts, buttons, magnets, coloring books and more.

Sequim Masonic Lodge continued its effort to identify and document local children and vulnerable adults with teeth imprints, DNA swabs, and their voices and images on video.

The CarFit and car seat adjustments helped 20 individuals and families at Sequim Skate Park.
