Foundation to host training for nonprofit staffers, volunteers

The Olympic View Community Foundation convenes a special training for nonprofit executives, fund development staff, board members and volunteers for Clallam and Jefferson county nonprofits.

“Boards on Fire, The Sequel,” presented by nationally renowned presenter, Susan Howlett, will be from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, June 19, in the Red Cedar Hall at the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Center in Blyn.

This is the last in the community foundation’s currents series of nonprofit strengthening and leadership development workshops.

Whether you’re an ED/CEO looking to enhance board engagement in strategic governance and effective fundraising or a board member wanting to become a great ambassador for your organization, you’ll want to attend this presentation filled with Howlett’s own brand of practical solutions, hands-on examples, stories and humor, event organizers say.

Howlett has helped strengthen thousands of nonprofits throughout the U.S. over the past 40 years.

As a board member, development director, executive director and consultant to nonprofit leaders, event organizers say that Howlett “understands the difficulties and complexities your organization faces,” and that the award-winning University of Washington instructor and acclaimed author promises “solutions that make sense in your world.”

Registration deadline is Monday, June 15.

Registration for one person is $45 or come as a group and save; $75 for two persons and $100 for up to three people (ED, staff or volunteer).

This includes a catered lunch prepared by The Cedars of Dungeness. Organizations must be a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit.
