Seminar teaches smarter money management

The Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., hosts a free seminar, “Banking Basics: Smart Banking in Confusing Times,” 6:30 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, April 4.

Kelly Raymond, Wes Ochs, Rob Bermodes, Kari Osterberg and Rebecca Coons of Sound Community Bank suggest ways to improve banking savvy with information on money markets, CDs, checking accounts, borrowing, online banking, automatic transfers and credit scores.

No particular bank or financial products are promoted.

Free weight loss lecture

Dr. Rick Marschall offers a free lecture on “HCG Slim and Weight Loss” at 7 p.m. every Thursday in April at Sorensen Clinic, 524 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim. The goal of the health program is to reshape the body and increase energy without food cravings, exercise or surgery. Reservations are required; call 457-1515.

‘Helping Hands’ food drive runs through April

Strait Occupational & Hand Therapy, 708 S. Race St., Suite C, sponsors its annual “Helping Hands” food drive through April.

Participants can drop off nonperishable food items or cash donations at the clinic, which is open from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, or in Sequim at Sequim Physical Therapy; Sequim Senior Activity Center; Gauthun Chiropractic; Aaron Staeben of Peak Performance Therapy and Avamere Health and Rehab.

Sequim Dry Cleaning finds new owners

Sequim Dry Cleaning and Laundry, 225 E. Washington St., is under new ownership.

The business is open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday, for pickup only. Full service will begin soon. Call 683-2642.

Expanded salon opens April 6

Destination Salon, 130 N. Third Ave., Sequim, has expanded to include Destination Chic, a quality consignment boutique featuring accessories and small items of home decor.

The grand opening is 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 6. Business hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
