You probably won’t want fries with that. In fact, you might not want fries for quite a while since you can now shake up your workday lunch (or weekend grab-and-go) with Hardy’s Market’s new selection of freshly-made Indian cuisine.

There are appetizers (samosas, onion bhaji, vegetarian pakoras, paneer pakora and samosa channa chat); soups (mulligatawny soup, chicken spinach soup, entrees (too many to list here, but they include butter chicken, lamb roganjosh, tikka Masala, vindaloo and shrimp biriyani); vegetarian entrees (aloo gobi, vegetable korma and mattar panneer are among them); Tandoor clay oven offerings (tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, lamb boti kabob and sheekh kabob); and a variety of Indian breads (plain, garlic, cheese and kashmiri naan and tandoori roti.) Wash it all down with mango lassi, a chilled yogurt drink made with mango.

Owners and cousins Harvir Sangha and Harinderbir Nagra own Mehfil Indian Cuisine & Bar at 10600 Silverdale Way in Silverdale. They said they decided to begin serving Indian food at Hardy’s Market, which they bought in October 2022, after local fans of their Silverdale eatery requested it. For the past two years, the pair has served free Indian food to friends and customers on Thanksgiving Day.

The partners spent $100,000 to install a new kitchen where bread is being made fresh daily. The kitchen includes a fryer and a 10-burner gas stove. DP Singh is the chef.

Afraid the food might be too spicy? No worries. Customers can choose their spice level based on a numbered scale ranging from one to five.

Hardy’s Market is located at 10200 Old Olympic Hwy. Lunch service starts at 11 a.m. with order ahead available seven days a week until 8:30 p.m. For more information, call 360-582-0240.
