MAC offers free block printing

Artists Randy and Sallie Radock demonstrate block printing from 1-3 p.m. at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St., on Saturday, June 16. Fret Noir releases CD

Fret Noir, composed of Sequim’s Mary Tulin and Port Townsend’s Gilbert Yslas, is releasing its first CD, “Bittersweet.” The guitarists/vocalists hold a Port Angeles release event from 8-10 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Wine on the Waterfront, 115 E. Railroad Ave., and a Sequim release event from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Rainshadow Coffee, 157 W. Cedar St. 

OTA Rothko auditions ready 

Olympic Theatre Arts has scheduled auditions for its fall production “Red” at 7 p.m. Friday June 22, and at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave. John Logan’s 2010 Tony Award-winning play about painter Mark Rothko has roles for two men, one in his 20s and one in his 50s.

The play runs Friday-Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons Sept. 7-23. Scripts are available at the OTA office. Call 683-7326.

Band rocks out for art exhibit

Therapy Session plays blues, rock, country and more to accompany the ArtPaths student exhibit of art at 7 p.m. Friday, June 22, at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd. Admission is by donation. The exhibition runs through June 24, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesdays-Sundays. 

MAC offers photo workshops

The Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley offers two studio photography workshops “Photographing 3-Dimensional Art” workshop from 9 a.m.-noon Monday, June 18, and “Photographing Flat Art” 9 a.m.-noon Monday, June 25, at 544 N. Sequim Ave. Each workshop costs $15. Registration required at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. or by calling 683-8110.

Library starts concert season

The Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., hosts Olympic Express Big Band from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 22, at the bleachers and stage behind the library. The event is free. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs for additional seating. For more information, visit www.nols.org or call 683-1161.
