Milestone: Rygaard receives OMC BEE award

Adrianne Rygaard, a certified nursing assistant with Olympic Medical Center, recently received the OMC BEE (Being Excellent Every Day) Award.

Established by OMC and a companion to the DAISY Award given to nursing staff, this honor recognizes non-nurse staff members, both clinical and non-clinical, who exceed expectation in service excellence every day, OMC representatives said.

Rygaard was recognized for her dedicated and compassionate approach, which was described as “an amazing example of person-centered care,” they said.

A colleague nominated Rygaard for the BEE award, writing: “Adrianne’s dedication and compassionate approach to patient care are truly inspiring. Her ability to connect with patients on a personal level, even in challenging situations, demonstrates a remarkable level of empathy and understanding.

“By treating each patient with respect, kindness and patience, she not only addresses their physical needs but also provides emotional support, creating a positive impact on their overall well-being. “Adrianne’s dedication to her profession and her patients sets a high standard for healthcare professionals. Her actions go beyond the typical duties of a nursing assistant, showcasing the importance of genuine human connection in healthcare. She serves as an excellent example for others, demonstrating the profound impact that empathy and compassion can have on patients’ lives.

Olympic Medical staff may be nominated for the BEE Award by patients, families and colleagues. Each honoree receives a certificate commending her or him on “Being Excellent Every Day.” The certificate reads: “With deep appreciation for being excellent at what you do, for going above and beyond and making a difference for those around you every day.” Honorees also receive a BEE Award pin and a gift bag containing a jar of local honey. A cross-functional committee of healthcare workers review the nominations and select the final nominee.
