Nurse practitioner joins OMP orthopedic team

Olympic Medical Center announced last week Michelle McCullough has joined the Olympic Medical Physicians (OMP) orthopedic team.

An advanced nurse practitioner specializing in adult-gerontology, McCullough will see patients as part of the team of providers at the OMP Orthopedic Clinic in Sequim and Port Angeles.

She treats fractures, dislocations, joint problems and orthopedic emergencies.

“My career path from medical assistant to nurse practitioner gives me a unique view of the different levels of care, which I bring forward to my patients today,” said McCullough.

“From patient interactions to patient advocacy, my journey will facilitate quality patient-centered care.”

In 2006, McCullough started as a medical assistant in Tulsa, Okla. She became a registered nurse in 2015, with experience as an emergency department nurse and acute dialysis nurse.

In 2018, McCullough joined OMC as part of the Clinical Informatics team, earning her master’s of science degree in nursing informatics in 2019. While working as a registered nurse in the OMP Wound Clinic in 2021, McCullough worked toward her nurse practitioner degree, which she earned in 2022.

McCullough said she looks forward to providing personal care to her patients on the Olympic Peninsula, saying, “Serving in a rural hospital system like OMP gives me the ability to really help my community.”
