Artist Laura Papstein’s painting was selected from a pool of applicants to represent the 2025 Sequim Sunshine Festival set for March 7-8. 2025. The festival’s committee chose her work in August to be the central image on festival marketing materials in 2025.

In this painting, Papstein depicts a joyful family headed down a flowered path into the glow of the sun. The image reflects the spirit of the Sequim Sunshine Festival, designed to help shake the winter blues and celebrate the approaching spring and summer seasons. The festival includes the Sun Fun Color Run, Interactive Light Experience, Illuminated Drone Show, community art projects and activities, music, food, and more.
