PHOTO: A noble Christmas cause

John Glavin and Boy Scout Joshua Loucks stand near a piece of property between East Washington Street and Sequim Sequim Bay Road, where community members will be selling Christmas trees to benefit three Sequim groups. Glavin has organized the sale of trees from Vern Frykholm’s property — located just east of the Sequim-Dungeness Chamber of Commerce — after the owner found some trees perfect for the season were growing on the land. Purchases of the trees, marked for $40-$50, will be split between the Sequim Food Bank, Boy Scout Troop 1498 and the North Olympic Foster Parents Association. Contact Galvin, vice president of the foster parents group, to set up a time to purchase a tree, by calling 360-565-4743. Or, visit the property between noon-4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
