Children invited to free performance
Children of all ages are invited to attend free interactive performances with Holly Gwinn-Graham at both the Sequim and Port Angeles branches of the North Olympic Library System.
Gwinn-Graham creates plays on the spot with suggestions from members of her audience, who then become actors under her direction, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.
She also performs at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., at 1 p.m. on Aug. 12.
Reservations will be required for the Port Angeles performance and will be available starting at 12:30 p.m.
The library’s summer reading program continues through Friday, Aug. 21, at all four branches of the North Olympic Library System, in Port Angeles, Clallam Bay, Forks and Sequim.

Land Trust seeks blackberry donors
North Olympic Land Trust needs about 50 gallons of blackberries for its traditional StreamFest cobbler and is inviting blackberry pickers to contribute to the fundraiser for the nonprofit organization.
People wanting to pick berries should call the land trust office at 417-1815.
Berries must be raised organically or come from wild areas away from any harmful chemicals. Dee Gardner, an owner of Joshua’s Restaurant and Lounge, will transform the berries into cobbler she is donating for sales at the Aug. 30 event.
Admission to StreamFest is free. Entry is opposite Peninsula Golf Club, 824 Lindberg Road, Port Angeles. All Points Charters and Tours and 7 Cedars Casino will provide free shuttles from the Eagles parking lot, U.S. Highway 101 and Penn Street.
StreamFest will offer nature walks, educational booths and other environmental awareness activities, a Procession of the Species parade, live music and a silent auction. For more information, call 417-1815 or see www.nolt.org.
Fiber arts to be shown
The deadline for entries to the North Olympic Fiber Arts Festival exhibit has been extended to Aug. 28.
Cultural Fiber – Civilization, Ethos & Strength of Character is a juried exhibit open to all fiber arts media. The Oct. 2-Nov. 28 exhibit is part of the 2009 North Olympic Fiber Arts Festival at the Museum and Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley,
175 W. Cedar St., Sequim.

Saturday benefit for hospice
Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County holds its fourth-annual country barbecue from noon-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Lari-at Hall, 4018 Tiller Road, off Mount Angeles Road in Port Angeles.
The meal, from 1-3 p.m., includes a choice of grilled rib steak or roasted chicken, salad, pie, ice cream and beverage.
The event includes a silent auction and a raffle. Donated merchandise is welcomed and donations are tax deductible.
Tickets, $25, are available at the hospice office, 540 E. Eighth St., Port Angeles, or at Bruch & Bruch Construction, 1706 W. Highway 101.
