College offers book rentals

Bookaneer program gives students textbook options

The Bookaneer, Peninsula College’s campus bookstore, seeks to make textbooks

more affordable for students this fall when it implements a new textbook rental program.

The program will offer an average of 50- to 70-percent savings on texts, according to Patty McCray-Roberts, the Bookaneer manager.

The service will be available online at www.

bookaneer.bkstr.com, providing students with an affordable alternative to rising education costs, McCray-Roberts said.

"We are eager to launch textbook rental because we are committed to providing students with affordable textbook choices," she said.

"We understand the additional financial hardship that rising textbook prices place on our students. By offering textbook rentals, we aim to help lessen that burden with greater savings, additional textbook purchase options and convenience to our students."

According to McCray-Roberts, the Bookaneer’s textbook rental program will:

• Include tens of thousands of the most popular textbook titles for rental

• Save students money on the course materials they need to succeed academically

• Provide students with a new option for their course materials needs

• Be available to students online at www.bookaneer.bkstr.com and at a kiosk in the campus store

• Allow students the freedom to highlight and take notes, all within the normal wear and tear associated with coursework

• Give students the choice to buy their textbook at the end of the term if they want to keep the book
