Discussion on wills
Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County and the Port Angeles Senior & Community Center are sponsoring a panel discussion on wills and ethical wills. The discussion will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, at the senior center, located at 328 E. Seventh St.
The talk will go into what one leaves behind when they die, not just assets and possessions, but values, wishes and legacies. It will also address the who, what, when and how of communications that ensure end-of-life wishes are known.
The panel will include attorney Ruth Mollinet, hospice chaplain Mike Milward and retired attorneys Ted Ripley and Dawn Wolff. Attendance is free and open to the public.
Grief support group
Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County (VHOCC) is sponsoring a five-week in-person grief support group every Monday from Oct. 27 through Nov. 24, from 1-3 p.m. in Sequim at location that will be given at the time of registration.
The group offers a place for participants to share with others their feelings and experiences with grief; gain a clearer understanding of the mourning process; and learn coping skills and strategies for dealing with the emotional pain of loss. Confidentiality is essential to foster openness, trust and acceptance.
Attendance is free, but registration is required.
For more information or to register, call 360-452-1511 or email reception@vhocc.org.
VHOCC has been providing free hospice services to patients and their families since 1978. Part of the organization’s mission is to offer grief support groups to not just families of hospice patients, but to anyone in the community who has experienced the death of a loved one, regardless of the circumstances of death.

No Kings II rally
Sequim Indivisible invites the community to participate in its No Kings II rally — the organization’s second No Kings protest — on Saturday, Oct. 18. Part of a nationwide initiative, the rally will be from noon to 2 p.m. along West Washington Street and North Priest Road.
According to an announcement by Sequim Indivisible, the purpose of the rally is to defend communities against authoritarian threats and to show how ordinary people can have power when they stand together.
A food drive will coincide with this event. More than 1,200 pounds of food was donated at the first No Kings rally and 640 pounds of food were collected at the Labor Day rally. The food items were given to the local food bank.
