Elks pick Harrison for award

Haleigh Harrison, a Sequim High School sophomore, was named Student of the Month by Sequim Elks Lodge No. 2642 at the Elks’ February dinner.

Harrison, who maintains a 3.475 grade-point average at school, was selected for her academic achievements and student involvement at Sequim High.

Her activities include volleyball, basketball and track. Harrison’s interests include Greek mythology, foreign cultures and various histories. She also likes to sing and play the piano.

After high school, Harrison plans to attend the University of Washington or the University of California Los Angeles, to major in forensic science.

She is the daughter of Tim and Kayana Harrison.
