Sequim resident Marie Oakley will celebrate her 90th birthday Sunday, Jan. 24, at home with her extended family.

She was born in 1926 in Los Angeles, Calif., and moved to Sequim in the late 1990s after she and her husband, Arthur, retired. She was a cruise consultant for many years. She and Arthur were married for 49 years before he died on July 24, 2003.

Her family includes her children Diane, Philip, Paul, Karen and Jeff and another son, Danny, who is deceased.

She has 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She also was a three-year volunteer with KSQM.
