A Marysville man has died after a collision on Tuesday night, Oct. 21, east of Sequim, Washington State Patrol reports.

Arthur Hetzel, 64, of Marysville, was driving at 5:46 p.m. east on U.S. Highway 101 near Pierce Road in a 2006 Toyota Scion while Bruce Parsons, 70, and Cynthia Parsons, 70, of Port Ludlow were driving west on the highway in a 2017 Subaru Outback.

A State Patrol press memo reports that Hetzel allegedly attempted to make a left turn onto Pierce Road, failed to yield, and hit the Outback.

According to Clallam County Fire District 3, both vehicles rolled and were found upside down in the westbound highway ditch.

Hetzel was not wearing a seatbelt, the State Patrol reports.

The Parsons were transported to Olympic Medical Center for evaluation with minor injuries, the fire district reports.

Both were wearing seatbelts.

Drugs or alcohol were possibly involved in the cause of the collision, according to the press memo.

Both vehicles were totaled, and the roadway was blocked for a few hours, the Washington State Department of Transportation reported.
