Clallam County Treasurer Selinda Barkhuis is reminding county property owners that 2014 second half property tax payments must be postmarked or dropped off at the Clallam County Courthouse by Friday, Oct. 31.

Mail dropped in a U.S. postal mailbox after the post office pick-up time may result in a postmark of Nov. 1 and will be considered delinquent, county officials said this week. Late payments are subject to 1 percent delinquent interest and on Dec. 1 an additional 1 percent interest and 8 percent penalty will be charged.

There are no longer any drop-off locations in Sequim or Forks; the only drop-off location that remains is the gray drop box specifically designated for property tax payments and other courthouse business, in the circular drive at the courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

The Treasurer’s Office accepts most credit and debit cards, either at the Treasurer’s Office counter or online at www.clallam.net/Treasurer; a convenience fee will be charged by the credit and/or debit card provider.

To access your property tax information online, select “Property Search” in the left-hand column on the home page of the county’s website at www.clallam.net.
