Clallam County Fire District 3 reported to 221 incidents from July 19-26. Staff note that quick thinking by employees at a restaurant on the 1400 block of East Washington Street helped prevent a dumpster fire from spreading to their building by pushing the burning bin away from an exterior wall on July 21. Crews quickly arrived and extinguished the fire, and the cause remains under investigation. Staff said it is always good to be mindful of potential hazards in your surroundings and give emergency responders plenty of room to work.
