The weekly blotter includes incidents that occurred in the City of Sequim and in unincorporated Clallam County in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley area.
Clallam County Fire District 3 reports that its crews responded to 212 incidents from Sept. 7-14.
On Sept. 8, firefighters deployed its Marine 34 water rescue boat to Oyster House Road to assist an individual who borrowed a canoe and became stranded on the Dungeness Spit when the tide came in. The woman was located at the New Dungeness Lighthouse and given a ride back to the boat launch on Cline Spit.
Firefighters also responded to a brush fire along U.S. Highway 101 on Sept. 9 near a homeless encampment, and throughout the week several 911 calls were made about various burn complaints. Staff report that a countywide burn ban is in effect until at least October 1.
