The City of Sequim, Clallam County Fire District 3 and other local emergency management partners will activate the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at 190 W. Cedar St., at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct 13, in anticipation of two storm fronts expected to pass through western Washington beginning Thursday afternoon and continuing through the weekend.

The center will be activated intermittently as needed through the duration of the storms, city staff report.

The National Weather Service issued a statement on the predicted weather here.

The strong winds could break tree limbs, topple small trees, and cause power outages, and heavy rains may cause some flooding, city staff report.

Sequim residents are advised to prepare in anticipation of possible power outages, and are reminded to not drive unless necessary during the storms.

City crews will be on call over the weekend to respond as necessary.
