Sequim police arrest bank robbery suspect

The Sequim Police Department, with the support of the Peninsula Crisis Response Team, has made an arrest in the April 9 robbery of Kitsap Bank.

Officers apprehended Dale Jaff, 57, at his home in Jefferson County at about 6 a.m. Friday, May 9.

According to a press release, Sequim detectives and officers reviewed extensive video surveillance from surrounding businesses, conducted witness interviews, and followed up on information provided by the public, developing enough probable cause to obtain a search warrant and arrest Jaff.

Law enforcement discovered evidence at Jaff’s residence that is believed to be connected to the robbery and officers conducted an on-scene interview, according to the press release.

Jaff is currently being held at the Clallam County Correctional Facility. He faces charges that include robbery in the first degree, assault in the second degree, and theft in the second degree.

In the press release announcing Jaff’s arrest, the Sequim Police Department thanked the staff at Kitsap Bank as well as those in the community and at local businesses who provided helpful information and video evidence.
