Retiring Sequim School District staffers were celebrated at a reception held June 15 after school in the high school library.

Each retiring staff member was introduced to the audience by their building principal, presented with a framed certificate by board president Beverly Horan and a Sequim School District purple polo shirt by board director John Bridge.

The reception, organized by Valorie Knieper, Karen Sande and Sonja Brown, was attended by school district staff and past retired staff.

As is customary, many past retired staff wore their purple polo shirts to the reception.

The 11 staff members retiring at the end of the 2014-2015 school year represent 189 years of service to the Sequim School District. Superintendent Kelly Shea thanked each of them for their years of service to the district and wished them well in their retirement.
