Who’s got Old Glory? Sequim Sunrise Rotary flags are missing

It appears someone may have a different way of celebrating the Fourth of July.

It appears someone may have a different way of celebrating the Fourth of July.

The Sequim Sunrise Rotary Club’s annual flag display was marked with disappointment last weekend when four of the club’s American flags went missing from the northwest corner of the Woodcock Road/Sequim-Dungeness Way intersection.

Sequim Sunrise Rotary places a U.S. flag at homes in certain Sequim neighborhoods five times a year: Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day. Community members subscribe to the flag service on an annual basis.

Club members said finding the flags missing is disappointing in a number of ways, particularly because of the cost associated: the fundraiser provides Rotary with means to support student scholarships and other community projects.
