Christian Parker Akers
June 14, 1990 – October 30, 2025
Christian Parker Akers, 35, was born on June 14, 1990, to Susan Shiver Barrow and David Michael “Mike” Akers. Christian called St. Simons Island home. As a young man, he earned Life Scout, and also graduated with an AA from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Nuclear Electronics Technician for 6 years. Fishing was Christian’s lifelong passion, matched only by his love for the outdoors and Georgia Bulldogs football. As the owner of Olympic Peninsula Chrome and Steel, he was proud to be a professional fishing guide and to share his love of the outdoors with countless others. He found joy in helping others experience the thrill of fishing.
Christian loved being a fiercely devoted husband and father. Whether as a sailor, husband, conservationist, guide, or friend, he gave his heart fully to what he loved. He will be forever missed and remembered for his loyalty, easy confidence and his passion for his beliefs. He is survived by his loving wife, Daylee Joers Akers and son Aiden Akers. Together, the family could often be found fishing, hunting, foraging, visiting Poppy and Coco, or exploring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. They especially loved their time on the beach, discovering “treasure.” He is also survived by his mother and father, Susan & Jody Barrow and Mike & Lea Akers; sisters, Ashley Akers (Scott) Trudon and Blythe Barrow; brothers, David Michael Akers Jr. and Joseph Barrow.
Wyatt Parker Akers
March 2, 2019 – October 30, 2025
Wyatt Parker Akers, age 6, of Sequim, Washington, was born to Daylee Joers Akers and Christian Akers on March 2, 2019. Like four generations before him, Wyatt grew up with Sequim as his home. Wyatt had a wild curiosity and deep interest in learning about everything. So special, kind and caring; everyone he met was treated as a friend. He loved deeply about everything, but fishing, Pokémon, Legos, searching for beach glass and soccer were some of his favorites. Playing games, telling jokes, rocking out with his brother, and making people laugh made him so happy. Wyatt loved going to school.
Outside of school he could be seen getting dirty outside, doing team sports, spending time at his grandparent’s house, or hanging with his cousin Violet. He was always excited about the adventures he had while visiting his family in the South.
He was known by all who knew him for his big heart, quick smile, and friendly enthusiasm. Wyatt is deeply mourned by his family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Wyatt is survived by his mother, Daylee Joers Akers, his brother, Aiden Akers; and his maternal grandparents, Pete & Elizabeth Joers. He is also survived by his paternal great-grandparents, Linda Tisdale and the late Larry Livingston, and Jeanne Hill Joers and his aunt, Jaedyn “Maxine” Joers, and paternal grandparents, Susan & Jody Barrow, and Mike & Lea Akers.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 13th at 11am with a potluck reception to follow at Kingsway Foursquare Church, in Sequim. For those who wish to offer direct support to Daylee and Aiden during this difficult time, contributions can be made through a GoFundMe at: https://gofund.me/7082e04fc.
