Destiny Stauss, Dakota Henderson and Kaleigh Cassal each fell short of their bid to move on to the class 1A/2A/3A state meet, set for Feb. 5-6 at Narrows Plaza Bowl in Tacoma.

Stauss was Sequim’s top finisher, placing 40th overall out of 73 competitors after posting a three-game, 417-pin series. She had Sequim’s top individual game, bowling a 159 in her first game.

Henderson placed 47th overall, bowling a 150-pin first game and 404-pin series. Cassal was 61st, bowling a 351-pin series and 130 in her final game.

Klahowya edged Wilson High by 43 pins (2,987 to 2,944) for the district team title. North Mason earned the fourth and final team state berth. Olympic was fifth and Bremerton 10th out of 10 teams. Shainya Brannon of North Mason was the top individual bowler, rolling a 632-pin series and a pair of 220-pin individual games, also tops in the district.
