North Olympic Land Trust will be hosting a bike event on Saturday, June 7, 2014 in honor of National Trails Day.
The bike ride will be about 12.5 miles, one-half on the Olympic Discovery Trail and one-half on county roads. Participants will visit six properties which are conserved forever with Conservation Easements.
These properties are owned by private landowners so are not normally open to the public, so this is a rare opportunity to see these beautiful lands.
In addition to visiting the easement properties, participants will also have the option to take a 1 mile hike at Siebert Creek Conservation Area. The 38-acre Conservation Area is owned by North Olympic Land Trust and is open to the public for passive recreational use. Participants will see the results of a multi-year restoration project that has been taking place on the property.
Those wanting to join in should meet at Robin Hill County Park (Pinnell Road parking lot) at 9 a.m. The tour will end sometime between noon and 1pm depending on how much time is spent at each property. If adding the hike, please bring your own snack or lunch.
RSVPs are appreciated! (but not necessary). Call Lorrie Mittmann at 417-1815, x7, or email at lorrie@northolympiclandtrust.org.
