More than 1,500 runners raced under sunny skies Sunday at the 2015 North Olympic Discovery Marathon, a day of running events from Sequim to Port Angeles.

Taking top honors in the full marathon was Yusheng Ni of Beijing, China, whose finish of 3:05.33 topped runner-up Adam Reid of San Francisco, Calif., by more than eight minutes. Taia Sean Wu of Bellingham won the women’s full marathon in 3:13:58, edging running partner Kaitlyn Spees of Oakland, Calif., by a second.

Port Angeles prep star Peter Butler won the half-marathon and Kristi Houk of Port Orchard was the top female finisher.

A storm damaged the Railroad Bridge Park trestle earlier this year, forcing race organizers to reroute runners.
