Hoops camp coming, paddlers hold meeting, scramble at SkyRidge, and another run set for Troll Haven.

Hoops camp coming

A Chris Hyppa Elite Skills basketball camp is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Sept. 12-13, at the Peninsula College gymnasium, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

Cost is $125 per player, with discounts for multiple family members.

The camp, sponsored by Olympic Avalanche Basketball, is an elite skills camp for advanced players. There is a 50-player maximum for the camp.

Paddlers to meet

The Olympic Peninsula Paddlers club will meet from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

A presentation will be given on “Paddling Orcas Island” as well as discussion of upcoming events. The public is invited to attend.

Scramble at SkyRidge

SkyRidge Golf Course hosts a three-person scramble, set for a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Cost is $90 per team; honey pots are $20 extra. Carts are $15 per seat.

The tourney features gross and net prizes, lunch after play, and team KPs and long putts (included in fee).

Spooky run set for October at Troll Haven

Troll Haven in Gardiner is hosting a 5K/1-mile family run/walk, starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. The event includes trolls, costumes, lots of glow lights a more. The run is designed to get more families to run together. Troll Haven hosts a haunted house following the event.

WSU Extension hosts 4-H archery training

WSU Extension Clallam County 4-H is hosting 4-H Archery Leader Training in Port Angeles, set for Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 19-20.

Participants become certified archery 4-H leaders. For new 4-H programs, additional training and support is provided through the local Extension office.

The 4-H Archery Training course fee is $85. Lunches are included and financial assistance is available. Participants must be an enrolled 4-H volunteer to attend.
