Spring Fling draws 200+ to Sequim’s pickleball courts

Another Spring Fling, another big turnout.

The Sequim Picklers’ annual Sequim Fling Pickleball Tournament saw courts filled with some of the region’s top players vying for division titles in men’s and senior men’s, women’s and senior women’s, mixed and senior mixed doubles play, held June 27-30 at the Carrie Blake Community Park courts.

Tourney organizer Katinka Nanna said at least 213 people registered for action.

The group’s Blue Whole Bash in September 2023 saw participants from 16 different cities in Washington state along with players from Alabama, California, North Carolina, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, New York, Utah, Canada, Arizona, Florida, Georgia and Oregon.

The Sequim Picklers host the “Big Dill” tournament for club players rated 2.0-2.9 on Saturday, July 27.

Sequim Fling tourney sponsors included 7 Cedars Resort, Columbia Engineering, Artemis Enterprises, Puget Sound and RNR Electrical Services, with Sunshine Café/Adagio Bean & Leaf offering food service.
